Cooler Valve

  1. Using the refrigerant recovery system, discharge refrigerant. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (HEV)>REFRIGERANT RECOVERY PROCEDURE>PROCEDURE .
  2. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  3. Move the air intake boot. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR INTAKE BOOT>REMOVAL .
    NOTE: With the PCV hose connected, remove the air intake boot from the air cleaner case (rear) and throttle body.
  4. Disconnect the pipe - sensor.
    1. Remove the nut and bolt, and then disconnect the pipe - sensor.
      CAUTION: Seal the engaging parts of the disconnected pipe, expansion valve - cooler assembly, and air conditioner unit with plugs or vinyl tape to prevent foreign matter from entering.

  5. Disconnect the pipe -  evaporator cooling.
    1. Remove the bolt, and detach the pipe -  evaporator cooling.
      CAUTION: Seal the engaging parts of the disconnected pipe and expansion valve - cooler assembly with plugs or vinyl tape to prevent foreign matter from entering.

  6. Remove expansion valve - cooler assembly.
    CAUTION: Seal the engaging parts of the disconnected hose and air conditioning unit with plugs or vinyl tape to prevent foreign matter from entering.
    1. Remove the bolt, and remove the hose of expansion valve - cooler assembly.

    2. Disconnect the connectors, connector clips, and harness clips.
    3. Remove the nuts, and remove the expansion valve - cooler assembly.
