Inhibitor Switch: Installation

- Install the inhibitor switch to the transmission case temporarily.
- Connect the inhibitor harness connector.
- Install the shifter arm and fix with the spring pin.NOTE: Use new spring pin.
- Shift the shifter arm to "N" range.
- Install the ST vertically in the cut out of shifter arm and the hole of switch body.
Preparation tool:
ST: STOPPER PIN (499267300)
- Tighten the two bolts holding the inhibitor switch.
Tightening torque:
5 N.m (0.5 kgf-m, 3.7 ft-lb)
- Install the select cable to the shifter arm.
- Install the select cable, washer and snap pin.CAUTION: Do not apply excessive load while holding the part (a).
- Install the front exhaust pipe. Refer to EXHAUST (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>FRONT EXHAUST PIPE>INSTALLATION .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Shift the select lever to "P range".
- Connect the ground terminal to 12V engine restart battery sensor. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Check the inhibitor switch. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580 IMPREZA)>INHIBITOR SWITCH>INSPECTION .
