DTC C1412: Selected Parameter

DTC detecting condition: 

• A fault is detected if abnormal set value is found on the vehicle model that were given some parameters.
• A fault is detected if 0 point setting compensation of the sensor is not yet performed.

Trouble symptom: 

• ABS does not operate.
• VDC does not operate.
• Hill start assist does not operate.
• EyeSight does not operate. (Models with EyeSight)

1. CHECK VDC Control Module & H/U IDENTIFICATION SYMBOL  .

   Check the identification symbol attached on the H/U. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>SPECIFICATION .

   Is the identification symbol correct?

   Yes  : Go to  2.

   No  : Replace the VDC Control Module & H/U. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDC Control Module & H/U) .

2. CHECK PARAMETER SELECTED IN VDC Control Module  .

   Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDC Control Module & H/U)>MAINTENANCE MODE>VDC Control Module PARAMETER CHECK .

   Does the parameter registered in the VDC Control Module match the relevant vehicle?

   Yes  : Go to  3.

   No  : Select and register the correct parameter. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDC Control Module & H/U)>MAINTENANCE MODE>VDC Control Module PARAMETER SELECTION .

3. CHECK SPECIFICATIONS OF OTHER CONTROL MODULES  .

   Check the specifications of ECM and TCM.

   Are the specifications of ECM and TCM the same as vehicle specification?

   Yes  : Replace the VDC Control Module & H/U. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDC Control Module & H/U) .

   No  : Replace the ECM and TCM. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO) (EXCEPT FOR HEV)>ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) . Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580 IMPREZA)>TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) . Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580 CROSSTREK)>TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) .
