Accumulator Down Drive

  1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, select [Prohibiting Motor Control] on the [Work Support] display. Refer to ELECTRIC BRAKE BOOSTER (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT .
  2. Follow the instructions on the Subaru Select Monitor screen and prohibit motor control.
  3. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, select [Driving Accumulator and Lowering Pressure] on the [Work Support] display. Refer to ELECTRIC BRAKE BOOSTER (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT .
  4. Follow the instructions on the Subaru Select Monitor screen and perform the accumulator down drive.
  5. If the accumulator down drive was not completed successfully, perform the following.
    1. Disconnect the brake accumulator assembly connector.
    2. Depress the brake pedal 40 times or more and return all brake fluid in the brake accumulator assembly to the reservoir tank.
    3. Check that the brake pedal does not stroke.
      NOTE: If the brake pedal strokes even after depressing the brake pedal 40 times or more, or if pump motor drive occurs, the accumulator down drive was not completed successfully.
