Front Seat: Removal

CAUTION:
  • Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  • When any of the following operation has been done, be sure to perform [Rezeroing] of occupant detection system. Ref. to OCCUPANT DETECTION (DIAGNOSTICS)>REZERO .
    • Replacing occupant detection system
    • Removing and disassembling passenger's seat
    • Loosening passenger's seat bolt
  1. Remove the headrest assembly - front.
  2. Remove the slide rail assembly installing bolt.
    CAUTION:
    • Install the front seat with low head bolts. Use a suitable tool to prevent bolt damage.
    • If the slide motor does not operate, apply battery voltage directly to the slide motor to run.
    1. Tilt the backrest assembly forward and move the front seat to the front most position.
    2. Remove the cover - bolt rear, and remove the bolts.

      NOTE: The illustration shows the LH side.
    3. Move the front seat to the rearmost position, and remove the bolts.
      NOTE: After the bolts are removed, slide the seat to the middle position in order to make it easier to take out of the vehicle.
  3. Disconnect the ground terminal from the 12V engine restart battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    NOTE: For the hybrid model, disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  4. Disconnect the connector under the front seat.
  5. Take out the front seat from the vehicle.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the body.
