DTC P226B: Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Pressure Too High - Mechanical: Notes

DTC detecting condition: 

Immediately at fault recognition

Trouble symptom: 

Poor driving performance

CAUTION: After servicing or replacing faulty parts, perform Clear Memory Mode Refer to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (EXCEPT FOR STI)>CLEAR MEMORY MODE>OPERATION , and inspection mode Refer to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (EXCEPT FOR STI)>INSPECTION MODE>PROCEDURE ..
  1. CHECK DTC. 

    Read the engine DTC using the Subaru Select Monitor or general scan tool. Refer to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (EXCEPT FOR STI)>READ DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

    Is other than DTC P226B displayed? (Current malfunction)

    Yes:  Check the appropriate DTC using the "List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)". Refer to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (EXCEPT FOR STI)>LIST OF DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

    No:  Go to  2.

  2. CHECK WASTEGATE ACTUATOR PIPING AND WASTEGATE CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE PIPING. 

    Check the wastegate actuator pipe and wastegate control solenoid valve pipe.

    Are there any damage or disconnection of hose in wastegate actuator piping or wastegate control solenoid valve piping?

    Yes:  Connect the wastegate actuator pipe or wastegate control solenoid valve pipe properly. If defective, replace the hose.

    No:  Replace the wastegate control solenoid valve. Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (EXCEPT FOR STI)>WASTEGATE CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE .
