DTC P170B: Rear Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit Range/Performance: Notes

DTC detecting condition:

Immediately at fault recognition

Trouble symptom:

Acceleration is poor during standing start.
No lock-up occurs.
The engine stalls when the vehicle is stopped.
Shift control malfunction

CHECK DTC.
Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor.

Besides DTC P170B, is any of the DTCs P0720, P1706 and P0500 displayed?

Yes: Perform the diagnosis according to DTCs other than P170B.

No: Perform the diagnosis according to DTC P1706. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>DTC P1706 REAR OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT NO SIGNAL .
