Section 15 (Engine Cooling System (Except For STI)): Thermostat: Removal

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Refer to NOTE>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Drain engine coolant. Refer to COOLING (EXCEPT FOR STI)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
  3. Remove the center exhaust pipe. Refer to EXHAUST (EXCEPT FOR STI)>CENTER EXHAUST PIPE>REMOVAL .
  4. Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from thermostat cover.

  5. Remove the thermostat cover, and then remove the thermostat.

  6. Remove the gasket from thermostat.
