Combination Meter System: Inspection: Switch

Illumination intensity does not change even when the illumination control switch is operated  .

  1. CHECK CURRENT DATA  .

    Display the data of «Bright switch input state» and «Illumination control switch input state» using the Subaru Select Monitor.

    NOTE: For detailed operation procedures, refer to "Application help".

    Do the display switch between OFF ←→ ON and the value range from 0 to 100 when the bright switch and illumination control switch are operated?

    Yes: Replace the combination meter.

    No: Go to  2 .

  2. CHECK ILLUMINATION CONTROL SWITCH UNIT  .

    Check the illumination control switch. Ref. to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>Switches and Harness>INSPECTION>ILLUMINATION CONTROL SWITCH .

    Is the switch normal?

    Yes: Go to  3 .

    No: Replace the illumination control switch.

  3. CHECK HARNESS  .
    1. Disconnect the connectors of combination meter assembly and illumination control switch.
    2. Measure the resistance between the combination meter assembly and the illumination control switch.

      Connector & terminal 

      (i10) No. 29 - (i79) No. 6:

      (i10) No. 30 - (i79) No. 5:

      (i10) No. 31 - (i79) No. 4:

      (i10) No. 32 - (i79) No. 1:

    Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?

    Yes: Replace the combination meter.

    No: Repair or replace the harness.
