Self-Diagnosis Display Mode
The combination meter self-diagnosis can be performed as a single unit according to the following procedure. When the self-diagnosis display mode operates, it switches in the order of [1. Meter pointer operation check] → [2. Meter pointer indication check] → [3. LCD/TFT display check].
- ProcedureCAUTION:
- Perform the steps described in (1) through (4) within 10 seconds.
- There are two methods. Follow either of the methods.
- Method with lighting switch
(1) Within 3 seconds after turning the ignition switch to ON, set the tail (small) light switch or the headlight switch to ON. (2) While the switch is in ON, press the trip reset switch three times. (3) Turn the tail (small) light switch or the headlight switch to OFF, and press the trip reset switch three times. (4) Turn the tail (small) light switch or the headlight switch to ON, and press the trip reset switch three times. - Method with seat belt
(1) Unfasten → fasten the driver's seat belt within 3 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to ON. (2) With the driver's seat belt fastened, press the trip reset switch three times. (3) Unfasten the driver's seat belt, and then press the trip reset switch three times. (4) Fasten the driver's seat belt again, and then press the trip reset switch three times. - Go to the self-diagnosis display mode.
CAUTION:
If the procedure is not performed properly, turn the ignition switch from ON to OFF to stop the operation halfway, and then proceed from step (1) to (4).
NOTE:
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF (ACC OFF) to cancel the self-diagnosis function.
- When the engine starts during diagnosis, the self-diagnosis function is not cancelled, however, once the vehicle starts driving, the self-diagnosis function is deactivated automatically.
- If the self-diagnosis function is not deactivated, the check items in operation are displayed. After the check items 1 to 3 are displayed, the check item 1 is displayed repeatedly.
- The buzzer sounds when the check item is switched, to indicate that the item is switched and make sure that the buzzer sounds.
- METER POINTER OPERATION CHECK
In meter pointer operation check, the meter operation, warning/indicator light, illumination and LCD/TFT are checked.
- After a buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and "STEP1" is displayed on LCD/TFT, the meter pointer operation check mode is initiated.

(3) Engine coolant temperature warning light illuminates in red. (4) Display for one second for each level. - METER POINTER INDICATION CHECK
In meter pointer indication check, the meter operation, warning/indicator light and LCD/TFT are checked.
NOTE: ILL indication illuminates at the same brightness as immediately before entering "Meter pointer indication check".- Press the trip reset switch.
- After a buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and "STEP2" is displayed on LCD/TFT, the meter pointer indication check mode is initiated.

Check the LCD/TFT display.
NOTE:
- The meter needle indicate 0 or the lowest position.
- ILL indication illuminates at the same brightness as immediately before entering "LCD/TFT display check".
- For model with normal meter, after No. 14 is displayed in the illumination order, the display is repeated from No. 1 again.
- For model with color TFT meter, after No. 8 is displayed in the illumination order, the display is repeated from No. 1 again. The version display contents of the illumination order No. 1 varies depending on the vehicle.
- Press the trip reset switch.
- After a buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and "STEP3" is displayed on LCD/TFT, the LCD/TFT display check mode is initiated.
- Model with normal meter
