Inspection steps

Reading of SSM4 data

Using the SSM4, follow the screen display to bring up and check the [Data monitor].

SSM4 screen: [Each System] →[Combination Meter] →[Data monitor]

Item name [Symbol]	Description/display range	Normal value	Remarks
[Tail Cancel SW] [Tail Cancel SW]	Tail cancel switch state Display range: OFF to ON	ON: Tail cancel switch ON OFF: Tail cancel switch OFF	If it is abnormal, the tail cancel switch may be faulty
[Rheostat value] [Rheostat]	Rheostat input value Display range: 0 to 255	Light control rheostat switch Dark (0) to Bright (255)	If it is abnormal, the light control rheostat switch may be faulty

Criteria: The normal value is displayed properly.

NG: Go to Step 2.

OK: Go to next step

Replacement of the combination meter ASSY (Refer to REMOVAL )

Unit inspection of the light control rheostat

Remove the light control rheostat. (Refer to LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT )

NG: Replacement of the light control rheostat (Refer to LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT )

OK: Go to next step

Inspection of the wiring harness and connector (Combination meter ASSY - Light control rheostat)

STANDARD VALUE SPECIFICATION - RESISTANCE

NG: Repair or replacement of wiring harness or connector

OK: Go to next step
