Air Cleaner Case: Installation

Install the air cleaner bracket (A) and the side frame bracket (B).
Tightening torque:

7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

Install the air cleaner case (front).
NOTE: Insert the protrusion of the air cleaner case (front) into the cushion of the air cleaner bracket.

Tightening torque:

6 N.m (0.6 kgf-m, 4.4 ft-lb)

Set the air cleaner element and install the air cleaner case (rear).
CAUTION:
- Be sure to use SUBARU genuine air cleaner element suitable to the engine type. Otherwise the engine performance may decrease.
- Install the air cleaner element so that the printed surface is on the upper side.
NOTE:
- If any foreign matter is found in the air cleaner case, clean it.
- Install by aligning the claws located on the bottom of the air cleaner case.
Connect the air intake boot.
Tightening torque:

2.5 N.m (0.3 kgf-m, 1.8 ft-lb)
Connect the connector to the mass air flow and intake air temperature sensor.
Install the air intake duct. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>AIR INTAKE DUCT>INSTALLATION .
Connect the battery ground terminal. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
