Section 7 (Engine Mechanical (H6DO)): V-belt: Installation

CAUTION:
  • When reusing the V-belt, wipe off dust and water with cloth.
  • Do not use the V-belt if there is any oil, grease or coolant on the belt.
  • Be careful not to rub the belt end surface with bare hands; exposed core may cause injury.
  • Wipe off any dust, oil and water on the groove of each pulley with cloth.
  1. Make sure that the spline of key (B) on shaft (A) matches with key groove (C), tighten the nut (D) to 1 N.m (0.1 kgf-m, 0.7 ft-lb), and temporarily assemble the tensioner assembly.

  2. Install the V-belt (C), and adjust the bolt (B) so as to obtain the specified belt tension. Ref. to INSPECTION , V-belt.
    CAUTION: After installing the V-belt, check the V-belt tension and adjust it if necessary by loosening the nuts and tensioner pulley, then reinstall the belt.
  3. Tighten the nut (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    20 N.m (2.0 kgf-m, 14.8 ft-lb)

  4. Install the air intake duct. Ref. to INSTALLATION , Air Intake Duct.
  5. Install the collector cover.
