Oil Cooler: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION: If the engine oil is spilt over exhaust pipe or the under cover, wipe it off with cloth to avoid emission of smoke or causing a fire.
  1. Drain engine coolant. Ref. to DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT , REPLACEMENT, Engine Coolant.
  2. Drain the engine oil. Ref. to REPLACEMENT , Engine Oil.
  3. Remove the engine oil cooler water pipe (A), water hose (B) and water hose (C) as a unit, and disconnect the water hose (D) from the oil cooler.

  4. Remove the oil filter. Ref. to REMOVAL , Engine Oil Filter.
  5. Remove the oil cooler connector and remove the engine oil cooler.

B: INSTALLATION 

  1. Install the oil cooler to the oil pan upper, and fasten the oil cooler connector.

    Tightening torque: 

    54 N.m (5.5 kgf-m, 39.8 ft-lb) 

    NOTE: Use new O-rings.

  2. Install the oil filter. Ref. to INSTALLATION , Engine Oil Filter.
  3. Install the engine oil cooler water pipe (A), water hose (B) and water hose (C), and connect the water hose (D) to the oil cooler.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

  4. Install the under cover. Ref. to INSTALLATION , Front Under Cover.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Refill the engine oil. Ref. to REPLACEMENT , Engine Oil.
  7. Fill the ATF. Ref. to FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT , REPLACEMENT, Engine Coolant.
