Outback Model

CAUTION:
  • Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". <Ref. to CAUTION , General Description.>
  • If the hook - rear seat is disconnected from the vehicle body, make sure to replace the hook - rear seat with a new part to prevent the decline of the fixed force of the seat.

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. <Ref. to BATTERY , NOTE, Repair Contents.>
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly and side pad assembly - backrest. <Ref. to OUTBACK MODEL , REMOVAL, Rear Seat.>
  3. Remove the mat - rear floor, box - sub trunk, and spacer - rear floor.

  4. Remove the clips, and remove the trim panel - rear skirt.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not lift the trim panel - rear skirt from the edge. Doing so may damage the part.
    • Do not reuse the clips. Once the clip is removed, its holding force is reduced. Be sure to replace it with a new clip.

  5. Remove the trim panel - rear apron.
    1. Remove the covers, screws, and bolts. (a), (c), (d)
    2. Take out the hook and remove the screw inside. (b)
    3. Remove the clips, and remove the trim panel - rear apron.

    NOTE: For LH side, disconnect the accessory socket connector.
  6. Remove the rear quarter trim UPR.
    1. Remove the screws and clips, and remove the rear quarter trim UPR - rear.

    2. Remove the clips, and remove the rear quarter trim UPR - front.
