EGR Cooler: Removal

Remove the collector cover.
1. Remove the clip (A).
2. Hold the shaded area (B) by hand and carefully pull the RH side (C) upward.
3. Hold the shaded area (D) by hand and carefully pull the LH side (E) upward.

Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
Remove the intercooler. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>Intercooler>REMOVAL .
Remove the brake booster vacuum hose from the clip, and place the brake booster vacuum hose aside so that it does not interfere with the work.

Lift up the vehicle.
Drain engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING(H4DOTC)>Engine Coolant>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
Disconnect the engine coolant outlet hose from the CVTF cooler (with warmer feature).

Remove the nuts which secure the EGR cooler to the cylinder head RH.

Disconnect the water hose from the water pipe RH.

Lower the vehicle.
Disconnect the engine coolant inlet hose from the EGR cooler.

Remove the bolts which secure the EGR cooler to the EGR control valve and cylinder head RH, and remove the EGR cooler.

Remove the gasket (A) from the stud bolt, and remove the stud bolt from the cylinder head RH.
