Oil Seal: Replacement

Clean the transmission exterior.
Drain transmission gear oil completely. < Ref. to REPLACEMENT , Transmission Gear Oil. >
Remove the rear exhaust pipe and muffler. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Rear Exhaust Pipe. > < Ref. to REMOVAL , Muffler. >
Remove the heat shield cover.
Remove the propeller shaft. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Propeller Shaft. >
Using the ST, remove the oil seal.

Using the ST, install the oil seal.
NOTE:
- When grease is not applied to the oil seal lips, apply the transmission gear oil to the oil seal lips.
- Use a new oil seal.

Install the propeller shaft. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Propeller Shaft. >
Install the heat shield cover.
Tightening torque:

18 N.m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.3 ft-lb)
Install the rear exhaust pipe and muffler. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Rear Exhaust Pipe. > < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Mufflers
Pour in transmission gear oil and check the oil level. < Ref. to REPLACEMENT , Transmission Gear Oil. >
