DTC PROCEDURE

Step Check Yes No
1 CHECK FUSE.
Check the fuse. < Ref. to RELAY AND FUSE .>
Is the condition normal? Go to step . Replace the fuse. If the fuse blows out easily, repair the short circuit of harness.
2 CHECK BELTS.
Check the belt. < Ref. to V-BELT .>
Is the condition normal? Go to step . Adjust or replace the belt.
3 CHECK CURRENT DATA.
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, confirm the current data of hybrid powertrain control system, the value of «ISG Control Mode Actual»«12V Engine Restart Battery Voltage »«ISG Terminal Voltage». < Ref. to HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL SYSTEM , OPERATION, Read Current Data.>
Is «12V Engine Restart Battery Voltage»«ISG Terminal Voltage » 12 - 15 V when the engine speed is at 2000 rpm or more and «ISG Control Mode Actual» is generating power? Even if DTC is detected, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.
NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
Go to step .
4 CHECK CURRENT DATA.
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, confirm the current data of hybrid powertrain control system, the value of «HPCM Check 40». < Ref. to HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL SYSTEM , OPERATION, Read Current Data.>
Is the value 30 m Ω or more? Check for poor contact of 12 volt engine restart battery terminals. < Ref. to BATTERY , NOTE, Note.> Go to step .
5 CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT).
  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the HPCM connector.
  3. Disconnect the integrated starter generator connector.
  4. Using a tester, measure the resistance between the HPCM connector and integrated starter generator connector.

    Connector & terminal

    (B605) No. 2 - (E163) No. 1:

    (B605) No. 3 - (E163) No. 1:

Is the resistance less than 1 Ω? Go to step . Repair the open circuit of the harness between the HPCM connector and the integrated starter generator terminal.
6 CHECK BATTERY.
Check the 12 volt engine restart battery. < Ref. to BATTERY .>
Is the condition normal? Replace the integrated starter generator. < Ref. to INTEGRATED STARTER GENERATOR (ISG) .> Charge or replace the 12 volt engine restart battery.
