Instrument Panel Lower: Removal
List of bolts, screws, and nuts
NOTE:
- Bolts, screws, and nuts required for removal or installation of the instrument panel Lower are indicated by symbols in context and figures.
- In the figure, D represents nominal (mm) while L represents bolt length (mm).
- PrecautionsCAUTION: After turning the ignition switch to OFF, you may have to wait for a while before disconnecting the battery terminals. Check appropriate precautions for battery terminal disconnection before proceeding. (Refer to WORKING PRECAUTIONS AND NOTES )
- Disconnection of the battery ground terminal (Refer to REMOVAL )
- Removal of the console box assembly (Refer to REMOVAL )
- Removal of instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly center
- Release the 4 clips and 2 claws with a molding remover, and remove instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly center.
- Remove Navigation System With Bracket
- Remove the 4 bolts to remove the navigation system with bracket.
- Removal of instrument cluster finish panel garnish No. 2
- Remove the screw and release the 6 claws. Pull instrument cluster finish panel garnish No. 2 toward you and remove it.
- Removal of instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly upper (installed on the LH side)
- Remove the screw.
- Release the 3 claws and remove the instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly upper.
- Removal of instrument cluster finish panel garnish No. 1NOTE: Remove the part in the same manner as LH side.
- Removal of instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly upper (installed on the RH side)
- Removal of air conditioner control assembly (for automatic air conditioning system) (Refer to REMOVAL )
- Removal of air conditioner control assembly (for manual air conditioning system) (Refer to DISASSEMBLY )
- Removal of instrument side panel LH
- Release the 4 clips and the claw with a molding remover, and remove the instrument side panel LH.
- Removal of instrument side panel RHNOTE: Remove the part in the same manner as LH side.
- Removal of meter hood sub-assembly
- Remove the screw.
- Release the 12 claws. Pull the meter hood sub-assembly obliquely upward and toward you and remove it.
- Removal of instrument panel meter ornament upper
- Release the 2 clips and 6 claws.
- Release the 2 claws connecting the instrument panel meter ornament upper to the steering column cover.
- Disconnect the connector and remove the instrument panel meter ornament upper.
- Removal of instrument panel under cover sub-assembly No. 1 (Refer to LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT )
- Removal of glove compartment door assembly
- Release the claw and disconnect the glove compartment door damper.
- Release the 2 stoppers and pull out the glove compartment door assembly until it is level.
- Pull the glove compartment door assembly horizontally, release the 2 hinges, and remove the glove compartment door assembly.CAUTION: If the glove compartment door assembly is pulled upward and removed, the hinges may be loosened. Always pull the assembly horizontally to remove it.
- Removal of glove compartment door damper
- Release the claw and remove the glove compartment door damper.
- Removal of instrument panel sub-assembly lower
- Remove the 7 screws.
- Remove the 2 screws and nuts.
- Disconnect the aspirator hose. (Automatic air conditioning system model)
- Release the 14 claws, disconnect the connectors and clamps, and remove the instrument panel sub-assembly lower.
