Oil Pan and Strainer: Removal

- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Remove the air intake duct. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Air Intake Duct.>
- Remove the intercooler. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Intercooler.>
- Remove the air intake boot.
- Remove the pitching stopper.
- Remove the radiator upper brackets.
- Support the engine with a lifting device and wire ropes.
- Lift up the vehicle.CAUTION: When lifting up the vehicle, raise up wire ropes at the same time.
- Remove the under cover. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Front Under Cover.>
- Drain the engine oil. <Ref. to REPLACEMENT , Engine Oil.>
- Remove the front exhaust pipe. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Front Exhaust Pipe.>
- Remove the nuts which secure the engine mounting to the front crossmember.
- Remove the bolts which secure oil pan on cylinder block with the engine raised up.
- Insert an oil pan cutter blade between cylinder block-to-oil pan clearance and remove the oil pan.CAUTION: Do not use a screwdriver or similar tool in place of oil pan cutter.
- Remove the oil strainer.
- Remove the baffle plate.
