Interruption Screen Of "Audio Abnormality" Was Displayed On The MFD: Wiring Diagram

Audio system <Ref. to RADIO , Audio System.>

Multi-function display (MFD) system <Ref. to RADIO , Multi-function Display (MFD) System.>

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Check Yes No
1 CHECK AUDIO  .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  2. Check the operation of audio system.
 Does the volume level change when you operate the volume of the audio? Go to step 2  . Replace the audio. <Ref. to AUDIO .>
2 CHECK MFD  .
Check the operation of MFD.		 When you operate the screen selection switch of MFD, does the display changes to a normal screen other than the "Audio abnormality" screen? Go to step 3  . Replace the MFD. <Ref. to MULTI-FUNCTION DISPLAY (MFD) .>
3 CHECK CONNECTOR  .
Check for poor contact of the connectors between audio and MFD.		 Is there poor contact of connector? Repair or replace the poor contact of connector. Go to step 4  .
4 CHECK U-ART COMMUNICATION LINE (OPEN CIRCUIT)  .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  3. Remove the audio.
  4. Remove the MFD.
  5. Use a tester to measure the resistance between audio connector and MFD connector.

    Connector & terminal 

    (i86) No. 8 - (i240) No. 1: 

    (i86) No. 15 - (i240) No. 7: 

    (i86) No. 16 - (i240) No. 2: 

 Is the resistance 10 Ω or less? Go to step 5  . Repair or replace the open circuit of U-ART communication harness.
5 CHECK U-ART COMMUNICATION LINE (GROUND SHORT CIRCUIT)  .
Use a tester to measure the resistance between the audio connector and chassis ground.
Connector & terminal 
(i86) No. 8 - Chassis ground: 
(i86) No. 16 - Chassis ground: 		 Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more? Go to step 6  . Repair or replace the short circuit of U-ART communication harness.
6 CHECK MFD  .
  1. Replace the MFD, and connect each connector.
  2. Connect the ground cable to battery.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
 Is "Audio abnormality" displayed on the MFD? Replace the audio. <Ref. to AUDIO .> Replace the MFD. <Ref. to MULTI-FUNCTION DISPLAY (MFD) .>
