Illumination Control Switch

  1. Measure the resistance between connector terminals.

    Preparation tool: 

    Circuit tester

    Terminal No. Inspection conditions Standard
    1 - 6 Bright switch OFF 10 kΩ or more
    Bright switch ON Less than 1 Ω
    4 - 6 Always 4465 to 4935 Ω
    5 - 6 Illumination control switch upward fully open 475 to 525 Ω
    Illumination control switch downward fully open 4370 to 4830 Ω
  2. Apply battery voltage between the connector terminals to check lighting condition of illumination inside the switch.
    Terminal No. Inspection conditions Specification
    2 (+) - 3 (-) Apply battery voltage. Light ON
  3. Replace the illumination control switch if the inspection result is not within the standard value.
