Current Data Display & Save / System Operation Check Mode

  1. Current Data Display & Save
NOTE: Using the SSM3 to read the [Current Data Display & Save] allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the [Current Data Display & Save] information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.
CAUTION: In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.
    1. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the SSM3 on.
    4. Enter the following menus: [Integ. unit mode] →[Current Data Display & Save]
    5. Enter the following menus: [Engine Control System] →[Current Data Display & Save]
    6. Read the [Current Data Display & Save] according to the display on the SSM3.

  2. System Operation Check Mode
NOTE: Using the SSM3 to perform [System Operation Check Mode] allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing [System Operation Check Mode] early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. [Current Data Display & Save] information can be displayed while performing [System Operation Check Mode].
    1. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
