| 1 CHECK TRANSMISSION TYPE. | Is the transmission type MT? | Go to step 5 . | Go to step 2 . |
2 CHECK INHIBITOR SWITCH.

Is the voltage approx. 10 V or more? | Go to step 3 . | Check for open or short circuit in the harness between inhibitor switch and ECM. |
3 CHECK INHIBITOR SWITCH CIRCUIT.

Is the resistance less than 10 Ω? | Repair the harness. | Go to step 4 . |
| 4 CHECK INHIBITOR SWITCH. Remove and check the inhibitor switch.< Refer to INSPECTION , Inhibitor Switch. > |
Is the inhibitor switch working normal? | Replace the ECM.< Refer to ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) . > | Replace the inhibitor switch. |
5 CHECK NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH CIRCUIT.

6 CHECK NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH CIRCUIT.
