A: Removal

CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage the airbag system harness when servicing the instrument panel. Damage may cause the system to malfunction.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Remove the front pillar upper trim. < Refer to REMOVAL , Upper Inner Trim. >
- Detach the plastic hooks (A) and remove the instrument panel side cover LH.
- Detach the plastic hooks (A) and remove the instrument panel side cover RH.
- Remove the clips, and remove the glove box lower cover.
- Remove the console box. < Refer to REMOVAL , Console Box. >
- Remove the console front panel. < Refer to CONSOLE FRONT PANEL , REMOVAL, Center Console. >
- Remove the instrument panel lower cover. < Refer to REMOVAL , Instrument Panel Lower Cover. >
- Remove the glove box lid. (Manual air conditioning model) < Refer to REMOVAL , Glove Box. >
- On manual air conditioning models, remove the control cable.
- Remove the steering shaft assembly. < Refer to REMOVAL , Steering Column. >
- Disconnect the connectors.NOTE: To make reassembly easier, place matching markings on connectors as necessary.
- Remove the bolts on the driver's side and fuse box.
- Remove the bolts on the passenger's side.
- Check that the connectors are disconnected, and remove the instrument panel from the vehicle.
- Remove the steering support beam bracket.
