DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Check	Yes	No
1 CHECK DTC. Check CAN communication circuit. Refer to BUS "B" (SMART SYSTEM CAN) .	Is CAN communication circuit faulty?	Repair the faulty portion, following the diagnosis procedure.	Go to step 2 .
2 CHECK DTC. Start the engine. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read DTC of CAN system.	Is U1302 a current malfunction?	Go to step 3 .	It is possible that temporary poor communication occurs. Perform the clear memory.
3 CHECK CONTROL MODULE. NOTE: For vehicles without remote engine start, go to next. Remove the remote engine start CM. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read DTC of CAN system.	Is U1302 a current malfunction?	Go to step 4 .	Check and replace the remote engine start CM.
4 CHECK DTC. Install a normal body integrated unit. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read DTC of CAN system.	Is U1302 a current malfunction?	Replace the keyless access CM.	Replace the body integrated unit. Refer to REMOVAL .
