Check Shift Indicator: Wiring Diagram

Step	Check	Yes	No
1 CHECK TCM Check the DTC relating the TCM using the Subaru Select Monitor.	Is DTC displayed?	Perform the diagnosis according to DTC.	Go to step 2 .
2 CHECK COMBINATION METER. Check the DTC of combination meter.	Is DTC displayed?	Perform the diagnosis according to DTC.	Go to step 3 .
3 CHECK TCM. Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Connect the Subaru Select Monitor to data link connector. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Run the Subaru Select Monitor. Shift the select lever to manual mode. Read the data of "Gear Position" using Subaru Select Monitor.	Is the gear position "1"?	Go to step 4.	Replace the TCM. Refer to TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) 5AT-57, Transmission Control Module (TCM).
4 CHECK TCM. Shift up the select lever. Read the data of "Gear Position" using Subaru Select Monitor.	Is the gear position "2"?	Replace the combination meter assembly. Refer to COMBINATION METER SYSTEM IDI-20, Combination Meter.	Replace the TCM. Refer to TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) 5AT-57, Transmission Control Module (TCM).
