Section 15 (Engine Mechanical (H6DO)): Camshaft: Removal

- Remove the engine from vehicle. Refer to , REMOVAL , Engine Assembly.
- Remove the crank pulley. Refer to , REMOVAL , Crank Pulley.
- Remove the chain cover. Refer to , REMOVAL , Chain Cover.
- Remove the timing chain assembly. Refer to , REMOVAL , Timing Chain Assembly.
- Remove the cam sprocket. Refer to , REMOVAL , Cam Sprocket.
- Remove the crank sprocket. Refer to , REMOVAL , Crank Sprocket.
- Remove the exhaust oil flow control solenoid valve. Refer to OIL FLOW CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE .
- Remove the camshaft position sensor. Refer to CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR .
- Loosen the rocker cover bolts in the order indicated in the figure, and remove the rocker cover.

- Loosen the camshaft cap bolts equally, a little at a time in numerical sequence, as shown in the figure.
- Remove the camshaft caps and camshaft (RH).NOTE: Arrange camshaft caps in order so that they can be installed in their original positions.
- Similarly, remove the camshaft (LH) and related parts.
