Body Integrated Unit: Removal

NOTE:
  1. When replacing the body integrated unit
    • Prepare the security ID plate.
    • For models with immobilizers, prepare the required number of new immobilizer keys (unregistered), (except for model with keyless access)
    • When replacing the body integrated unit, check the current settings and record it. Ref. to LIST , Read Current Data.
  2. After replacing the body integrated unit with immobilizer
    • Register the immobilizer. For detailed operation procedures, refer to PC application help for Subaru Select Monitor.
    • Set the current settings as recorded.
  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  2. Remove the instrument panel lower cover. Ref. to REMOVAL , Instrument Panel Lower Cover.
  3. Remove the body integrated unit.
    CAUTION: Be careful to keep water and other foreign materials away from body integrated unit.
    1. Disconnect the harness clip and connector.
    2. Remove the bolts, and remove the body integrated unit.
