DTC P0512 Starter Request Circuit

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

Detected when two consecutive driving cycles with fault occur.

TROUBLE SYMPTOM:

Failure of engine to start

CAUTION: After repairing or replacing the defective part, perform the Clear Memory Mode < Ref. to OPERATION , Clear Memory Mode. > and Inspection Mode < Ref. to PROCEDURE , Inspection Mode. >.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

Step	Check	Yes	No
1 CHECK OPERATION OF STARTER MOTOR. Turn the ignition switch to ON. NOTE: Place the inhibitor switch in each position. (AT model) Depress and release the clutch pedal. (MT model) Check the security alarm is not sounding.	Does the starter motor operate?	Repair the battery short circuit in starter motor circuit.	Check the starter motor circuit. < Ref. to STARTER MOTOR CIRCUIT , Diagnostics for Engine Starting Failure. >
