Engine Mechanical (H4DOTC): Camshaft: Removal
- Remove the V-belts. < Ref. to REMOVAL , V-belt. >
- Remove the crank pulley. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Crank Pulley. >
- Remove the timing belt cover.
< Ref. to REMOVAL , Timing Belt Cover. >
- Remove the timing belt. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Timing Belt. >
- Remove the cam sprocket. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Cam Sprocket. >
- Remove the crank sprocket. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Crank Sprocket. >
- Disconnect the oil flow control solenoid valve assembly connector.
- Remove the tensioner bracket.
- Remove the timing belt cover No. 2 (LH).
- Remove the timing belt cover No. 2 (RH).
- Remove the spark plug cords.
- Remove the oil level gauge guide. (LH side)
- Remove the rocker cover and gasket.
- Remove the oil pipe.
- Loosen the oil flow control solenoid valve assembly and intake camshaft cap bolts equally, a little at a time in alphabetical sequence shown in the figure.
- Loosen the exhaust camshaft cap bolts equally, a little at a time in alphabetical sequence shown in the figure.
- Remove the oil flow control solenoid valve assembly, intake camshaft cap and camshaft.
- Remove the exhaust camshaft caps and camshaft.NOTE: Arrange camshaft caps in order so that they can be installed in their original positions.
- Similarly, remove the camshafts (RH) and related parts.
