Front Disc Brake Pads: Installation
- Apply a thin coat of Molykote AS880N (Part No. K0777YA010) to the frictional portion between pad and pad clip.
- Apply a thin coat of Molykote AS880N to the frictional portion between pad and pad inner shim. See Fig 1
.CAUTION: Replace pad if there is oil or grease on it. Do not apply grease between outer pad and outer shim. Do not confuse the inner shim with the outer shim.
- Check disc rotor thickness and runout. See INSPECTION under FRONT DISC BRAKE ROTOR.
- Install pads on support.
- Install caliper body on support. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.NOTE: If it is difficult to push the piston during pad replacement, loosen the air bleeder to facilitate work.
- Depress brake pedal several times. Check that brake fluid level is at MAX line.
- Install front wheel.
