DTC P1518: Starter Switch Circuit Low Input - Legacy & Outback 2.5L A/T

Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . Place inhibitor switch in each position and attempt to start engine. If starter operates in each inhibitor switch position, locate and repair short to ground or open in wiring between ECM and starter. After repair, replace ECM. If starter does not operate in each inhibitor switch position, check starter circuit. Clear memory and perform verification procedure.
