DTC P1505: Idle Control System Circuit High Input - IMPREZA 2.2L, Legacy & Outback 2.5L M/T & Outback Sport
- Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . Ensure throttle cable is properly adjusted before proceeding. See ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article. Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM connected to ground, backprobe ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 5. See Figure. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not more than 10 volts, go to step 3.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect idle air control solenoid valve connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 5. If voltage is more than 10 volts, locate and repair short to voltage in wiring between ECM and idle air control solenoid valve. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. After repair, replace ECM. If voltage is not more than 10 volts, replace idle air control solenoid valve and ECM.
- Measure voltage between ground and ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 5 while wiggling harness and ECM connector. If voltage changes more than 10 volts while wiggling harness and ECM connector, locate and repair short to voltage in wiring between ECM and idle air control solenoid valve. After repair, replace ECM. If voltage does not change more than 10 volts while wiggling harness and ECM connector, contact authorized Subaru dealership because probable cause is deterioration of multiple parts.
