DTC P1325: Knock Sensor (KS) Circuit Low Input - Forester & IMPREZA 2.5L
- Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM connector B136 (30-pin connector). Using an ohmmeter connected to ground, measure resistance at ECM connector B136 (30-pin connector) terminal No. 4. See Figure. If resistance is more than 700 k/ohms, go to step 3. If resistance is not more than 700 k/ohms, leave ohmmeter connected and go to next step.
- Measure resistance between ECM connector B136 (30-pin connector) terminal No. 4 and chassis ground. If resistance is less than 400 k/ohms, go to step 5. If resistance is not less than 400 k/ohms, go to step 6.
- Disconnect KS connector. Measure resistance between KS connector terminal No. 2 and engine ground. See Figure. If resistance is more than 700 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not more than 700 k/ohms, locate and repair open in wiring and check for poor terminal contact in connectors between ECM and KS. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
- Ensure KS is installed tightly. Tighten bolt as necessary. If bolt is tight, replace KS.
- Disconnect KS connector. Measure resistance between KS connector terminal No. 2 and engine ground. If resistance is less than 400 k/ohms, replace KS. If resistance is not less than 400 k/ohms, locate and repair short to ground in wiring between ECM and KS.NOTE: Wiring between both connectors is shielded. Repair circuit in wiring together with shield.
- Reconnect ECM and KS connectors. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM connected to ground, backprobe ECM connector B136 (30-pin connector) terminal No. 4. If voltage is more than 2 volts, system has returned to normal. Check for poor terminal contact in connectors between ECM and KS. If voltage is not more than 2 volts, repair poor terminal contact at ECM connector. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .
