DTC P1208: Air Assist Injector Solenoid Valve Circuit High Input - Forester & IMPREZA 2.5L

  1. Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . Turn ignition on. Using DVOM connected to ground, backprobe ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 24. See Figure. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not more than 10 volts, go to step  3.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect electrical connector from air assist injector solenoid. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM connected to ground, backprobe between ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 24. If voltage is more than 10 volts, locate and repair short to voltage in wiring between ECM and air assist injector solenoid. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. After repair, replace ECM. If voltage is not more than 10 volts, replace ECM and air assist injector solenoid.
  3. Using DVOM connected to chassis ground, backprobe ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 24 while wiggling harness and ECM connectors. If voltage changes more than 10 volts while wiggling harness and ECM connector, locate and repair short to voltage in wiring between ECM and air assist injector solenoid. After repair, replace ECM. If voltage does not change more than 10 volts while wiggling harness and ECM connectors, contact authorized Subaru dealership because probable cause is deterioration of multiple parts. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
