DTC P0731, DTC P0732, DTC P0733 & DTC P0734

Code Definition

  1. Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTCs P0731, P0732, P0733 or P0734 are only DTCs present, go to next step. If any other DTCs are present, diagnose and repair those codes first. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
  2. Check throttle position (TP) sensor circuit. See DTC 31 in appropriate DIAGNOSTICS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS in TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION. If TP sensor circuit is okay, go to next step. If TP sensor circuit is not okay, repair or replace TP sensor. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
  3. Check front vehicle speed sensor circuit. See DTC 33 in appropriate DIAGNOSTICS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS in TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION. If front vehicle speed sensor circuit is okay, go to next step. If front vehicle speed sensor circuit is not okay, repair or replace front vehicle speed sensor. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
  4. Check torque converter turbine speed sensor circuit. See DTC 36 in appropriate DIAGNOSTICS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS in TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION. If torque converter turbine speed sensor circuit is okay, go to next step. If torque converter turbine speed sensor circuit is not okay, repair or replace torque converter turbine speed sensor. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
  5. Check for poor terminal contact in transmission control module (TCM) electrical harness connectors. TCM is located under left side of instrument panel. Repair connectors as required. If connectors are okay, go to next step. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
  6. If mechanical trouble is present in automatic transmission, repair or replace automatic transmission. If no mechanical trouble is present in automatic transmission, replace transmission control module. Clear memory and perform verification procedure.
