DTC P0336: Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem
- Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTC P0335 exists, diagnose and repair that DTC first. If DTC P0336 is only DTC set, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Ensure CKP sensor bolt is tightened securely. Tighten bolt as required. If CKP sensor and mounting bolt are properly installed, go to next step.
- Remove front timing belt cover and inspect crankshaft sprocket for damage. Replace crankshaft sprocket, if necessary. If crankshaft sprocket is okay, go to next step.
- Check installation of timing belt. See Figure. Repair/replace timing belt and adjust as necessary. If timing belt is properly installed, replace CKP sensor. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .
