DTC P0335: Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Circuit Malfunction
NOTE:
Wiring between both connectors is shielded. Repair circuit in wiring together with shield.
- Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . Turn ignition off. Disconnect CKP sensor connector. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and CKP sensor connector terminal No. 1. See Figure. If resistance is not more than 100 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 100 k/ohms, locate and repair open circuit in wiring and check for poor terminal contact in connectors between ECM and CKP sensor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
- Measure resistance between CKP sensor connector terminal No. 1 and ground. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, locate and repair short to ground in wiring between CKP sensor and ECM connector. If resistance is not less than 10 ohms, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between CKP sensor connector terminal No. 2 and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, locate and repair open circuit in wiring and check for poor terminal contact in connectors between ECM and CKP sensor.
- Ensure CKP sensor bolt is tightened securely. Tighten bolt as necessary. If CKP sensor bolt is tight, go to next step.
- Remove CKP sensor. Measure resistance across CKP sensor terminals. If resistance is 1000-4000 ohms, repair poor terminal contact in CKP sensor connector. If resistance is not 1000-4000 ohms, replace CKP sensor. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .
