DTC P0065: Air Assist Injector Solenoid Valve Circuit Malfunction - Legacy & Outback 2.5L A/T

  1. Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTC P0065 is only DTC set, go to next step. If any other DTCs exist, diagnose and repair those DTCs. Do not diagnose DTC P0065.
  2. Turn ignition off. Connect test mode connector. See Figure. Turn ignition on. While using scan tool to command air assist injector solenoid valve on and off, listen for clicking sound from valve. If clicking sound is heard while valve is being commanded on and off, go to next step. If no clicking sound is heard while valve is being commanded on and off, replace air assist injector solenoid valve.
  3. Remove air by-pass hose and blow through hose. If air by-pass hose is clogged or damaged, replace hose. If air by-pass hose is not clogged or damaged, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Remove injectors and check for clogged fuel injectors. Replace any clogged or faulty injectors. If no clogged or faulty injectors are present, replace air assist injector solenoid valve. Clear memory and perform verification procedure.
