DTC P0032: Front Ho2S Heater Circuit High Input - Legacy & Outback 2.5L A/T

  1. Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM connected to ground, backprobe ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 23. See Figure. If voltage is more than 8 volts, go to step  3. If voltage is not more than 8 volts, go to next step.
  2. Using a DVOM connected to ground, backprobe ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 22. If voltage is more than 8 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not more than 8 volts, go to step  4.
  3. Start engine. Using scan tool, observe front HO2S heater current value. If value is more than 2.3 amp, replace ECM. If value is not more than 2.3 amp, system has returned to normal. Check for poor terminal contact in connectors.
  4. Measure voltage between ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 23 and ground while wiggling harness and ECM connector. If voltage changes more than 8 volts while wiggling harness and connector, locate and repair short to voltage in wiring between ECM and front HO2S. If voltage does not change more than 8 volts while wiggling harness and connector, go to next step.
  5. Measure voltage between ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 22 and ground while wiggling harness and ECM connector. If voltage changes more than 8 volts while wiggling harness and connector, locate and repair short to voltage in wiring between ECM and front HO2S. If voltage does not change more than 8 volts while wiggling harness and connector, system has returned to normal. Check for poor terminal contact in connectors. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
