DTC P1511, P1513, P1515 & P1517: Idle Air Control (IAC) Solenoid Valve Signal No. 1-4 Circuits High Input - Forester, IMPREZA 2.5L & Legacy & Outback 2.5L A/T
- Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTCs P1511, P1513, P1515 and P1517 exist at the same time, go to next step. If DTCs P1511, P1513, P1515 and P1517 do not exist at the same time, go to step 3.
- Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter connected to ground, backprobe ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 7. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, locate and repair open circuit in wiring and check for poor terminal contact in connectors between ECM and IAC solenoid valve. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect IAC solenoid valve connector. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage between specified ECM and IAC connector terminals. See Figure and Figure . See IAC SOLENOID VALVE RESISTANCE - FORESTER, IMPREZA 2.5L & LEGACY & OUTBACK 2.5L A/T table. If voltage is more than 10 volts, locate and repair short to voltage in wiring between ECM and IAC solenoid valve. After repair, replace ECM. If voltage is not more than 10 volts, replace ECM. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .
