DTC P1507: Idle Control System Malfunction (Fail-Safe) - IMPREZA 2.2L, Legacy & Outback 2.5L M/T & Outback Sport

  1. Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTCs P0116, P0117, P0505 or P1505 exist, diagnose and repair those DTCs. Do not diagnose DTC P1507. If only DTC P1507 is set, go to next step.
  2. Ensure throttle cable is properly adjusted before proceeding. See ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article. Start engine and allow to idle. Check intake manifold, idle air control (IAC) valve and throttle body for loose installation or defective, cracked gaskets. Check by-pass hoses for loose connection or cracking and vacuum hoses for disconnection or cracking. Repair as necessary. If no damage is found, replace IAC valve. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
