DTC P0507: Idle Control System Rpm Higher Than Expected

  1. Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTCs P0505, P1505, P1510, P1511, P1512, P1513, P1514, P1515, P1516 or P1517 are present, diagnose and repair those DTCs. Do not diagnose DTC P0507. If DTC P0507 is only DTC set, go to next step.
  2. Start engine and allow to idle. Check intake manifold, idle air control (IAC) solenoid valve and throttle body for loose installation or defective gaskets. Check by-pass hoses for loose connection or cracking and vacuum hoses for disconnection or cracking. Repair as necessary and go to next step. If no damage is noted, go to next step.
  3. Check throttle cable play and adjust as necessary. See ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article. On all vehicles except Impreza 2.2L, Legacy and Outback 2.5L M/T and Outback Sport, turn ignition off. Remove IAC solenoid valve from throttle body. Check for foreign particles in by-pass air line. Remove foreign particles as necessary. If no foreign particles are present, replace IAC solenoid valve. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
