DTC P0141: Rear Ho2S Heater Circuit Malfunction/Low Input - IMPREZA 2.2L, Legacy & Outback 2.5L M/T & Outback Sport
- Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If DTC P0141 and P0135 are displayed at the same time, go to next step. If DTC P0141 and P0135 are not displayed at the same time, go to step 3.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector). Using an ohmmeter connected to ground, measure resistance at ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 35. See Figure. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to step 4. If resistance is not less than 10 ohms, go to next step.
- Using an ohmmeter connected to ground, measure resistance at ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 34. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, locate and repair open circuit in wiring and check for poor terminal contact in connectors between ground and ECM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
- Measure resistance between ground and ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 21. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, locate and repair short to ground in wiring between ECM and rear HO2S. If resistance is 10 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect rear HO2S electrical connector. Measure resistance between ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector) terminal No. 21 and rear HO2S harness connector terminal No. 4. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 3 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not less than 3 ohms, repair open circuit in harness between ECM rear HO2S.
- Reconnect ECM connector B134 (35-pin connector). Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at rear HO2S connector terminal No. 2. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not more than 10 volts, repair open circuit in wiring and check for poor terminal contact in connectors between ECM, main relay and rear HO2S.
- Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between rear HO2S harness connector terminals No. 2 and No. 4. If resistance is less than 30 ohms, locate and repair open circuit in wiring and check for poor terminal contact in connectors between ECM and rear HO2S. If resistance is not less than 30 ohms, replace rear HO2S. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .
