DTC P1445: Air Assist Injector Solenoid Valve Malfunction - Except 2.2L & Legacy 2.5L M/T

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to DLC. Retrieve DTCs. If any DTCs other than P1445 exist, repair those DTCs first. If DTC P1445 is only DTC set, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Connect test mode connector. See Figure and Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select "COMPULSORY VALVE OPERATION CHECK" mode. Activate air assist injector and listen for clicking sound from valve. If clicking sound was heard, go to next step. If no clicking was heard, replace air assist injector solenoid valve.
  3. Remove air by-pass hose and blow through hose. If air by-pass hose is clogged, replace hose. If air by-pass hose is not clogged, check for clogged fuel injectors. Replace any clogged or faulty injectors. If no clogged or faulty injectors are present, replace air assist injector solenoid valve.
