Oil Pump: Removal

Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain engine oil. Remove timing belt, crankshaft and camshaft sprockets and related parts. See TIMING BELT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove clutch housing cover (M/T models). Remove flywheel (M/T models) or drive plate (A/T models). Remove oil separator cover and water by-pass pipe for heater. Remove water pump. Remove oil pump assembly and gasket using 2 flat-bladed screwdrivers, without scratching cylinder block-to-oil pump mating surface.
