Duty Solenoid "C" & Transfer Valve Body: Removal

  1. Remove torque rod from engine to firewall and raise and support vehicle on hoist. Drain ATF. Remove exhaust pipe together with oxygen sensor. Scribe alignment marks on drive shaft and rear differential flange. Remove drive shaft. Support transaxle using jack and raise slightly. Remove crossmember and vehicle speed sensor No. 1.
  2. Remove gear selector cable nut and move cable. Remove extension housing carefully and disconnect duty solenoid "C" connector. Remove transfer clutch drum by tapping on end of rear drive shaft/transfer clutch assembly with a soft head hammer. Remove oil pipe clamp and oil pipe. Remove duty solenoid "C" and transfer valve body. See Figure .
