- Disconnect TCM connector B56 and ECM B84 connector. Measure resistance between connector B56 terminal No. 16 and B84 connector terminal No. 36. Resistance should be 0-1 ohm. If resistance is okay, go to next step. If resistance is not within specification, repair open in harness between TCM and ECM.
- Measure resistance between TCM connector B56 and ground. Resistance between connector B56 terminal No. 16 and ground should be more than 100 k/ohms. If resistance is okay, go to next step. If resistance is not within specification, repair short to ground in harness between TCM and transmission connector.
- Measure resistance between TCM connector B56 and ground. Resistance between B56 terminal No. 1 and ground should be 0-1 ohm. If resistance is not within specification, go to next step. If resistance is okay, go to step 5.
- Disconnect transmission connector. Measure resistance between transmission connector receptacle and ground. Resistance between transmission connector receptacle terminal No. 8 and ground should be 0-1 ohm. If resistance is okay, repair open in harness between TCM and transmission. If resistance is not within specification, repair open in internal transmission harness between receptacle and solenoid ground.
- Connect connectors to ECM, TCM and transmission. With KOEO, backprobe and measure voltage between TCM connector B56 terminal No. 16 and ground. Voltage should be 6-9 volts. If voltage is okay, replace TCM and retest. If voltage is not within specifications, replace ECM and retest.
