Lower Control Arm & Ball Joint: Removal
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove front wheels. Disconnect stabilizer bar from lower control arm. See Figure. Remove ball joint pinch bolt and separate ball joint from knuckle housing. Remove bolt(s) and separate control arm from front crossmember.
- Without damaging CV joint boot, carefully use a screwdriver to spread knuckle (if necessary). DO NOT spread housing slit more than .16" (4 mm). Remove control arm from vehicle. Remove ball joint nut and remove ball joint from control arm.
